In the book, Harry recalls his and Meghan's decision to step down as senior royals and start a new life in California. Speaking of this time, Harry, 37, recalled 'smoking weed' while his family stayed at actor Tyler Perry's mansion as they house-hunted for themselves.
The Gone Girl actor became a saving grace for the couple, who later made him the godfather of their daughter Lilibet, as he allowed the Duke and Duchess to stay in his home.In the book, Harry tells readers he loved Tyler's house and described the mansion as 'Xanadu'.
Despite loving their temporary home, the Duke was concerned about the safety of the house and would find himself wandering around at night checking the doors and windows while his family slept.
