Prince George may be called a different name when he becomes King due to royal tradition. The young Prince, who is currently second in line to the throne, could be called something else when he becomes King as many previous monarchs have opted to be crowned with a different name. The ancient unwritten royal rule could see the future King George picking another name as previous members of the Firm have chosen to be formally sworn in using their middle names instead.

King Charles III could have chosen to rename himself as King Arthur or King Philip due to them being his middle names in what is known, once coronated, as the monarch's Regnal name.

However, King Charles decided to stick with his given first name for his reign. The late Queen Elizabeth II also stuck with her birth name rather than change and pick one of her middle names Alexandra and Mary. There has been some speculation that ten-year-old George may one day opt to follow the ancient tradition and change his Regnal name.

He could go for King Alexander or King Louis, which are both his middle names although Louis is less likely as it's the name of his little brother.
