A Scots driver has been rumbled by police as he made a 524-mile round trip to collect a new car during lockdown restrictions.
The lockdown lout had set off on his initial journey of more than four hours from Glasgow to Strafford in the Midlands on Thursday.
But he was rumbled by officers shortly after crossing the border into England at Cumbria.The bungling driver claimed that he made the lengthy journey to go and collect a new car - despite emergency legislation ruling that it is a non-essential journey.A spokesperson for Cumbria Roads Police said on Twitter: “This driver was on his way to Strafford from Glasgow to collect a new car.“He agreed with us that it was not an essential journey.
