Proposals for a huge 5G mast in Motherwell will now be decided by the Scottish Government. In October, North Lanarkshire councillors opted to go against the local authority’s own planners advice and refuse permission for the 40 metre mast in Fir Park Street.

A previous planning application to put in a place a 45m mast at the same location within the grounds of Fir Park Stadium was rejected by the committee in October 2021.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
