Highland ward councillor reckons a £134,660 grant for a project to transform Kinloch Rannoch Outdoor Centre has vindicated the council’s decision not to sell the building for a pound.

Rannoch Community Trust has received the cash from the Scottish Land Fund to purchase the redundant centre, which it plans to transform into a new social hub, with food, drink, social and business space for locals and visitors.It comes after the council administration was criticised for charging the trust £75,000 for the building.Poll: Do you think council should press on with CTLR project?

At a council meeting last month, Highland ward councillors Xander McDade and Mike Williamson had put forward a proposal to sell the building to the trust for £1.
