Perth and Kinross Council says it is turning its attention towards repairing potholes in the region’s roads, now that the icy weather has dissipated.The local authority is also advising residents to only inform them of potholes where there is risk of “a serious accident”.The council has revealed that 1696 potholes have been identified since January 1 this year and that 329 have been repaired so far, which were mainly caused by the recent weather.However, PKC officers still have 2500km of roads to check and will be bringing in more workers in to help over the next few months.The cold conditions create new potholes, or make existing ones worse, as water gets into cracks in the road, and then when it freezes the road expands, weakening the.
