Pep Guardiola joked that Manchester City could pay their wages now after the club recorded an impressive £60m profit in the transfer window.

If the January and Summer transfer windows are combined, City have made over £100m of profit in player deals, with the likes of Ferran Torres, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Aleks Zinchenko all departing, plus a number of academy or City Football Group players.

Assessing City's record-breaking sales, Guardiola couldn't resist a joke about the club's often-criticised finances, as he explained how a number of factors combined to ensure the Blues have made a healthy profit this year.

He also sarcastically joked that City are 'just about money' when asked if the summer shows City are about more than their spending. ALSO READ: Guardiola spots City learning from mistake that helped Liverpool in 2019 "It's very good.
