Pedestrian fighting for his life following serious crash in Wigan

A man is fighting for his life following a serious crash in Wigan. Police were called to Castle Hill Road in Hindley to reports of collision between a pedestrian and a dark grey Ford Ranger at around 9.30pm on Saturday.

The incident happened at the junction with Oxford Street. The pedestrian – a 47-year-old man – was rushed to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Ford Ranger remained at the scene to assist police, a spokesman for GMP confirmed. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
