Parents of teen crash victim thank police who gifted them precious final moments with son

Barrhead, died following the accident on Nitshill Road, near its junction with Levern Bridge Road at around 11.35pm on Friday, September 17.

Police scrambled to the crash after reports of a red Vauxhall Corsa leaving the road.The two officers who arrived first at the scene performed CPR on the teenager for 15 minutes while waiting for an ambulance crew to arrive.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment - but the youngster died in the early hours of Saturday, September 18.

Jay's devastated dad Kenny said he would be eternally grateful to the officers who performed CPR, as they gave the family precious final moments to say goodbye to their son.He asked the public to be compassionate towards on-duty police officers.
