Wythenshawe. A murder investigation has been launched following the tragic death of Lee Knott.Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Royal Oak Road in Baguley at around 5.10pm on Tuesday evening (September 22).Emergency crews attended the scene and treated Lee, who was seriously injured in the attack.He was taken to hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.Manchester Coroners' Court confirmed a file relating to Mr Knott's death had been passed to the coroner.As news of Lee's death broke, hundreds of people took to social media to pay tribute to a 'nice guy and friend.'A number of floral tributes have also been left at the scene of the attack.Mr Knott is believed to have worked as a window cleaner, and was popular.

Wythenshawe.Tony Robertson appeared in the dock in a grey prison tracksuit at Manchester Magistrates Court earlier today.He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.Mr Robertson, of Atlow Drive, in Wytheshawe, was charged with an offence murder of Lee Knott and an offence of threatening a person, namely Lee Knott, with a blade in a public place.No pleas were entered at this stage.Police were called at around 5.10pm on Tuesday 22 September by the ambulance service responding to reports of a stabbing on Royal Oak Road.Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital where he sadly died.The man was identified as 45-year-old window cleaner, Lee Knott.Mr Robertson was remanded into custody and will next appear at Manchester
