‘One Mile’: C. Thomas Howell & Sara Canning Join Cast Of Republic Pictures’ Films
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: C. Thomas Howell (Obliterated) and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) have been cast opposite Ryan Phillippe and Amélie Hoeferle in the feature One Mile and its sequel, One More Mile, from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Paramount’s Republic Pictures.
Adam Davidson is directing the movies, which will be filmed simultaneously. Production is slated to begin Sept. 9 on Vancouver Island.
In One Mile and its sequel — written by John Hlavin based with rewrites by TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson — when an estranged father, Danny (Phillippe), and daughter, Alex (Hoeferle), go off for college tours, they get more than they bargained for when they get lost and stumble across a hostile, off-the-grid community.
Howell plays Stanley Dixon, the patriarch of the Dixon family. This charismatic leader is quite a bit more dangerous than the rest of his clan and will do anything to protect the future of his family line.
