Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

The mum of a baby girl who died after choking at nursery has hit out at plans to reduce staff ratios in childcare. According to reports, the Prime Minister is considering relaxing childcare ratios in a bid to cut costs for parents.

The relaxing of health and safety rules would allow nurseries in England to take in more toddlers without employing extra staff.

Current legal requirements say there must be at least one member of staff for every three children aged two and under. For two-year-olds and over, there must be one member of staff for every four children.
