Mod Sun Seemingly References Ex Avril Lavigne on New Song 'Strangers to Lovers to Strangers Again'

The couple called off their engagement in February 2023, and the “I’m With You” hitmaker seemingly moved on with Tyga.
A few days after a report suggested that Avril and Tyga had gone their separate ways, Mod hopped online to tease a new song called “Strangers to Lovers to Strangers Again.” While nothing’s been confirmed, the lyrics definitely seem to hint at their split. Head inside to check out a teaser for Mod Sun’s new song… On Wednesday (June 21), Mod took to Instagram to tease the track, promising to release it once 20,000 fans pre-saved it.
Lyrically, it deals with a breakup. “I remember loving you before we ever met / Saw you on a TV then I met you through a friend,” he sings over a racing beat. “Then I started talking to you on the internet / Went from strangers to lovers to strangers again.” The song follows Avril‘s ILLENIUM and Travis Barker collab “Eyes Wide Shut,” which was the first song that was released after they called off their engagement.
