Mason Mount is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a minor injury, Manchester United have announced. Mount was substituted in the 85th minute of Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and United have now revealed he suffered a 'small complaint' in the match.
The midfielder is expected to be unavailable until the international break. As a result, Mount has been ruled out of this coming Saturday's home match with Nottingham Forest as well as the trip to fierce rivals Arsenal the following Sunday.
The first international break of the season will commence after the game and United won't be back in action until they face high-flying Brighton on September 16.
Mount becomes the sixth player to join Erik ten Hag's injury list and the second midfielder after Kobbie Mainoo suffered an ankle injury in pre-season which is expected to rule him out of action for the first part of the season.
