Manchester United will have five of their Premier League fixtures moved to new dates following confirmation of their Europa League league phase schedule.
United will kick off their 2024/25 European campaign on Wednesday, September 25 when they welcome Dutch club FC Twente to Old Trafford.
That will be the first of eight matches they will play in the first phase of the new-look Europa League format. Europa League fixtures are traditionally held on Thursday nights, but some of the opening round's fixtures will be staged on the Wednesday night because of TV selections for the following weekend's domestic fixtures being pencilled in prior to the Europa League draw being made. The Reds will play three of their first eight Europa League matches before the end of October. With the dates of United's Europa League fixtures having been confirmed on Saturday evening, it is now clear where changes will be made to their schedule over the next few months.
