Mason Mount is working to vindicate the faith shown in him by Manchester United's new football structure. The Manchester Evening News reported in July that Mount was set to stay, despite links away from the club, and he was being viewed as a new signing after a difficult season.
There are staff within United who believe Mount had a false start last season due to injury and they believed this season would be an opportunity for him to show why he was signed, but the midfielder suffered another setback last month when suffering a muscle injury.
Mount expressed his 'frustration' at the injury on social media and fans had sympathy because he had looked in peak shape throughout United's pre-season schedule. After a disappointing first year in Manchester, Mount wanted to get himself in peak physical condition for the 2024/25 campaign and underwent a summer boot camp in Portugal.
