Manchester United are among those that have been impacted by a global IT outage that has put a temporary halt to ticket sales just weeks before the opening game of the Premier League campaign.
The outage has affected several organisations, including banks and television broadcasters, on Friday morning. It has been revealed that the problem is due to a global outage of Microsoft servers.
The club released a statement on their Manchester United Matchday X account. “Unfortunately, due to a global Microsoft Servers outage that is affecting many systems, including ours, this morning’s ticket release will be postponed until midday,” it read. Further updates will be provided here, including any further potential delays.” United are not the only club impacted by the outage, with Crystal Palace confirming that they have pushed ticket sales for their Premier League opener against Brentford back by a week.
