M56 police have busy night as yobs throw stones at HGVs

A number of people, including children, threw stones that damaged the windscreens of two HGVs, according to the North West Motorway Police.

It was not reported if there were any injuries as a result of the incident, but police have in the past warned that such acts can cause serious injury and even death.

Following a similar incident in the South in 2019, Chief Inspector Michael Hodder from Surrey’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “It is really worrying that some people think it is acceptable to throw anything off a motorway bridge.
