A lucky driver escaped uninjured after a van was left half-crushed in a crash on the M62. Police shared pictures of the aftermath of the crash, which happened on the westbound carriageway of the motorway near Warrington yesterday morning.

The photos showed the back of a red van left completely crushed. The van was one of two vehicles involved in the smash, which blocked the road between junction 11 for Birchwood and junction 10 for the Croft Interchange at around 6am.

Two lanes were reopened after some time, but long delays of up to an hour remained. The road was fully reopened again by around 9am.
