Jordan North has already bagged himself a new radio job at a rival station, just hours after the news of his BBC departure was announced. The 34-year-old quit his role as a BBC Radio 1 presenter on Friday after a decade with many left questioning what his next career move would be.It's now been reported that he's joined a competitor station and will be replacing one of the top radio stars.

Reports claim that Jordan will be taking over from Roman Kemp on Capital FM's Breakfast Show, with Chris Stark and Sian Welby, the Mirror writes.

The York-born broadcaster joined Radio 1 back in 2014 as a freelance presenter and often covered for the likes of Scott Mills, Nick Grimshaw and Matt Edmondson. In 2021, he started co-presenting Radio 1 Drivetime Show with Vick Hope and will now be replaced with former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.A source told The Sun: "Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he could not be more excited. "It is absolutely huge for him and although it's hard to leave the BBC he is excited to get started on Capital.

Jordan's decision has been a hard pill to swallow for the BBC but there was nothing they could do to change his mind." It was reported in October that Roman, 30, would be leaving after seven years of fronting the Breakfast Show.
