Catalans Dragons forward Joel Tomkins has been suspended for four matches by an independent disciplinary tribunal. Tomkins was charged with a Grade D punching offence by the Rugby Football League's Match Review Panel following an incident with Zak Hardaker during Saturday's game with Wigan in Perpignan, after Hardaker had head-butted Tomkins' younger brother, Sam.

The forward pleaded guilty to the offence, but challenged the severity of the grading. However, it was upheld by the tribunal, and the forward will now miss Catalans' next four matches.

Hardaker was suspended for two matches for his part in the incident after being shown a straight red card during the game itself.
