Jesse Metcalfe provided an update on the John Tucker Must Die sequel. Earlier this year, it was revealed that a script was in the works for a sequel to the 2006 comedy, which starred Brittany Snow, Penn Badgley, Sophia Bush, Arielle Kebbel, Ashanti and Jesse in the titular role.

During a recent interview, Jesse shared a slightly disappointing update on the new movie’s status. He also opened up about his costars and responded to a rumor about a possible plot point. I’d love to help push it forward, but I don’t really know how to do that.” He actor also acknowledged that it was refreshing to see the movie has fans still since it did not receive great reviews upon release. “I mean, it’s always nice to hear that people love the movie, especially considering that it was critically panned when it came out,” he said. “It has like a 24% or 28% [rating].

I don’t even know if it’s that high [of a] Rotten Tomato score. People really seem to love a movie that has a pretty low Rotten Tomato score, I guess.” While the new movie is seemingly temporarily stalled, Jesse has nothing but good things to say about his former castmates. “I really liked all of the ladies that I worked with.
