Bradley Walsh did something new for the first time during Wednesday's episode of The Chase as he cheered on an impressive contestant.Mark Labbett, better known as 'The Beast' on the game show, took on Alex, Nicky, Michelle and Joe, a 78-year-old Chelsea pensioner from London who was wearing his full uniform and a few medals. After answering four questions correctly in the cash builder round, Joe successfully challenged Mark, securing £4,000 for his team in the final chase. After his performance, host Bradley Walsh gave Joe a high-five as he confessed: "I've never done this before."Unfortunately, the team were easily dismissed by Mark, meaning they didn't win their £9,000 jackpot, the Mirror reports.Joe did manage to charm the audience though with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to compliment him whilst the episode aired.Someone wrote: "Joe has such a youthful face for a pensioner.

Seems like a thoroughly nice, happy chap."Another person commented: "I want Joe to win. The others can do one." A third echoed: "Joe on #thechase, what a top bloke" while a fourth expressed sympathy after the game: "Only gutted for Joe #thechase."Joe spoke about being a Chelsea Pensioner in an earlier conversation with Bradley as he discussed life in the Royal Chelsea Hospital. He revealed that he hosts a quiz on Mondays at the hospital alongside many other activities that are available for residents.Joe explained: "I live with 274 other veterans in the barracks.

We are ambassadors for the veteran community and I've been to several places on duty. "I also run a quiz on a Monday, bingo on a Tuesday and there's a local radio station and I'm a presenter on that.
