manchestereveningnews.co.ukITV has revealed the star-studded cast for the upcoming true crime drama The Long Shadow - including a number of former Corrie and Emmerdale cast members.
The true crime drama follows the five-year hunt for the Yorkshire ripper. The series - billed as the "definitive depiction of the desperate hunt for serial killer Peter Sutcliffe" will focus on the lives of the 13 victims who crossed his path and the officers at the heart of the police investigation.
ITV says: "With the victims, their families and the survivors at the heart of this series, The Long Shadow brings a new perspective to a well-documented story." Award-winning actor Toby Jones will play DCS Dennis Hoban, who initially led the enquiry, with David Morrissey taking the role of DCS George Oldfield, who took on the investigation.
Lee Ingleby is DCS Jim Hobson, while Katherine Kelly plays Emily Jackson with Daniel Mays as her husband, Sydney Jackson and Shaun Thomas as their son, Neil Jackson.
