ITV News crashed during its lunchtime programme leaving some viewers pondering whether the channel had fallen victim to a 'cyber attack'.
The programme, led by presenter Nina Hossain, was abruptly ended by a technical issue this afternoon. What should have been the regular lunchtime news was replaced with an error screen apologising for the 'disruption'. Read more: The screen read: "We're sorry for the disruption. "We're working hard to fix the issue and will return to normal programming soon." The crisis in Ukraine has been top of the news agenda today after Russia sent troops into the Donbas region of the country following weeks of tension between the two nations.
Boris Johnson described the move as a "renewed invasion" of Ukraine. It left some ITV viewers speculating over whether the awkward on-air crash could be linked.
