Irn-Bru boss to step down after 20 years in charge of producing iconic drink

The CEO of Irn-Bru is to step down from his role after producing Scotland's most iconic beverage for over 20 years.Rodger White is set to retire from the AG Barr within the next 12 months at a "mutually agreed date".

The fizzy drink firm’s board of directors announced the move of his departure this morning, with a formal succession process to begin immediately.

It is understood the search for a new candidate has already begun.Mr White said: “It has been a privilege and pleasure to lead the business for over two decades and now the time is right to plan for my succession and to ensure the continued success of the business. "I would like to pay tribute to everyone across the whole organisation who make AG Barr a very special place with amazing brands.”AG Barr chairman, Mark Allen said: “Roger has served the shareholders, board, wider business and industry for over 21 years – this makes him one of the longest serving CEOs in the UK public market.
