Elsie Oates, from Baguley, turned 100 on April 15 - just days after hairdressers opened their doors to customers in the latest easing of lockdown restrictions.

She has attended the Hair and Beauty Team at The Manchester College's Northenden campus for over half a century - making her their longest serving customer.

To commemorate Elsie's incredible landmark, the team knew they had to make a big fuss for their most loyal customer. Particularly so as the mum-of-two and grandma-of-three has fought off Coronavirus, and undergone an emergency operation during the last twelve
