Get Me Out of Here! has denied claims that the creepy crawlies used for its trials this year could escape into the Welsh countryside.The long-running ITV show – which is being filmed at Gwrych Castle in North Wales rather than the Australian jungle this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic – is being looked into by rural crime officers, according to The Guardian.It comes after TV presenter and naturalist Iolo Williams suggested that the critters could damage the ecosystem in the surrounding 250 acres of land if any were to get out."I'm not sure which species they're releasing, but I can tell you they're not native," he said, noting how easily creatures such as cockroaches, maggots, spiders and worms could elude.
