"I’ll never forget how happy he was": Mother's touching tribute to son, a father-of-two, who took his own life

“A clown, fun-loving and as mischievous as anything”. That was the tribute to Robert Davies’ mother gave after he took his own life, WalesOnline reports.

On November 30 last year Robert, a 33-year-old father of two young children, took his life days after enjoying a holiday in Blackpool and sharing photos of his trip with his girlfriend on social media.

Now his bereft mother, Rachel Davies, wants to share her son’s story and pictures of him days before his death to make families aware of the threat of suicide and the help available to those struggling.

Read more: The Greater Manchester village of just 150 people that's like always being on holiday - with just one downside “It’s important I speak out to help, to raise awareness and money for charities that can help people struggling with their mental health,” Rachel explained from her quiet and tidy home in Crickhowell which she now describes as “feeling empty”. “But to also help make sure others know there is help out there. “I didn’t know the help was available for Robert through charities like Papyrus, and I wish I’d known.” Since Robert’s death Rachel, alongside her daughters Parisse and Autumn and her niece Danielle, has been working towards a fundraising football and fun day event on July 24 to raise as much awareness and money as possible in Robert’s memory.
