Amanda Abbington has revealed that she had dreamt of winning Strictly Come Dancing, before signing up to the show last year, but her hopes all came crashing down when her mental and physical health began to decline amid her rigorous dance training.
After the Sherlock actress, 52, was paired with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, rumours began to spread that the pair were embroiled in a "feud." These rumours only grew after Amanda withdrew from the competition, despite being one of the favourites to win.
In the months following this Amanda claimed that she suffered PTSD due to Giovanni's gruelling training style. When Amanda quit Strictly, viewers were left particularly shocked as she'd been tipped to go all the way to the final.
Reflecting on this now, Amanda tells OK!: "That was always what I wanted to do, but my mental and physical health was far more important." She also told us that she has no plans to ever appear on reality TV again, and that the reaction to her Strictly had been rather brutal.
