The Hydes brewery is all set to reopen one of the oldest pubs in its whole estate, the Jolly Thresher in Lymm. The pub, which has been under Hydes tenure for 111 years, will open its doors after having undergone a £400,000 refurbishment.
The interior has been completely modernised - while staying sympathetic to the original features, along with new furniture, moving the toilet facilities and creating a larger dining area.
The outside has also been refreshed, with a larger decked dining area for the summer. The Jolly Thresher’s sister pub, The Wheatsheaf - which is just 200 yards away - has also benefited from a £150,000 refurbishment too, from a planned multi-million pound programme of investment from the brewery.
Hydes’ managing director Adam Mayers said: “The Jolly Thresher is one of our older establishments having been in the Hydes estate since 1911.
