The heartbroken family of the first Scottish care worker to die of coronavirus have paid tribute to the “wonderful” mum of one.
Catherine Sweeney, 64, was due to retire from her job with West Dunbartonshire Counci l next year. She was a home carer and contracted the virus in the Dumbarton area while working without personal protective equipment.
The widow was admitted to a high-dependency unit last Sunday but passed away on Saturday night at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
