Kieran MacDonald hopes to annoy mentor John McGlynn by helping Hamilton to a first win over Raith Rovers this season when they clash at Stark’s Park on Saturday.MacDonald was at the Fife club from 2019-21, and says he owes McGlynn a lot, but that won’t stop him trying to score or create goals for others. And he says Hamilton are creating so many chances that they’ll start putting them away.He said: “I still keep in contact with John, he was very good for me, and I still text him the odd time.“But Saturday’s game is massive, we’re looking to win every game, so hopefully we can go up there on Saturday and get the win.“We know what we’re up against.

Raith Rovers are obviously a good football side, and we like to do that as well, so I’m hoping it’s going to be a good game.“I’m not saying we owe them one because they beat us 3-0, but hopefully we can go up there and get the win.”MacDonald scored twice in a 4-4 draw the last time Accies were in Kirkcaldy, but says he’s happy to create. He said: “I’d love to score more, but my aim is to get crosses into the box and hopefully big David Moyo or Andy Ryan will get a head on it or whatever.“But if we keep playing how we’re playing just now and creating those chances then it’s going to come.“In the past couple of weeks, maybe a month, I think we’ve been a lot better, in terms of creating chances, and it’s now a case of taking those chances.“It’s about being more clinical.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
