A huge house fire in Alderley Edge sparked a massive emergency response overnight — with nine fire crews scrambled out to the blaze.

The fire, on Wilmslow Road in the well-to-do Cheshire village, has since been brought under control, Poynton Fire Station said.

A total of nine fire appliances and an aerial platform are in attendance. “There are no reports of any casualties.
