A homeless charity could be moved for a second time in 12 years to make way for a massive office development. Glasgow City Mission has offered support to rough sleepers and those experiencing poverty for the last two centuries.
The Christian organisation has been based at a purpose-built complex in Crimea Street, close to the Broomielaw, since 2009 after it agreed a land swap deal with a developer for its previous home.The mission's five-storey new Clydeside base was hailed as an architectural gem when it opened - but it could soon be flattened as part of the second phase of the huge Carrick Square office development.The charity has already held talks with developers Soller Group over the possibility of selling its land.
