Furious Cambuslang residents to refer South Lanarkshire Council to ombudsman in row over planning

Cambuslang Community Council raised concerns regarding the scale and character of the proposed development, the impact on trees within the site, the potential impact on bats and the potential impact of the development on a culvert or drain within the site, as well as road safety issues.

These were dismissed by South Lanarkshire Council.A council report noted: “The Planning Service considers that the development is acceptable in terms of scale and character and will not have any unacceptable adverse impact on trees within the site or in terms of flood risk management issues.“In addition the council’s roads and transportation services has no objection to the proposal in terms of parking and other road safety considerations.
