A boy, aged 14, accepts stabbing her, but denies murder and manslaughter, stating that he acted in self-defence. A jury at Liverpool Crown Court on May 11 watched a recording of an interview that detectives carried out with one of Ava's friends, aged 15, on November 26, the day after the horrifying incident which occurred in Liverpool city centre.
Jurors were then played a video of the girl being cross-examined by Boy A's defence lawyers, Liverpool Echo reports. The girl, who has been referred to as Girl C, said that she met Ava and other friends at Queen Square, Liverpool.
