Summer’s on its way which means day trips out with your little one – which inevitably means more time in the pram. It can sometimes be hard to know whether your baby is comfortable in their stroller, but fortunately one first aider has come up with a handy checklist to make sure all is well.
Posting to the CPR Kids Facebook account, paediatric nurse and mum Sarah Hunstead says parents just need to remember the acronym PRAM.
P - protect from the sun R - regularly check baby A - air circulation is key M - make sure you can see baby Sarah says it is important to make sure the pram is well ventilated, so never cover it with something that isn't specifically designed for it, such as general rain covers or parasols. "Always make sure the baby has adequate airflow. This can be from an open pram that is not covered, back panels being opened if your pram allows for this, or using accessories designed for covering prams that either don’t cover them entirely or use mesh to support air circulation," she said.
Writing on the CPR Kids blog, experts said you should always make sure your baby is visible to you and to keep checking on them.
