Javier Hernandez has opened up on his heartbreak after a tough few years in his personal life. The former Manchester United striker has revealed he has not seen his children for more than a year after separating from partner Sarah Kohan. ‘Chicharito’ admitted he “wasn't the best father” he wanted to be but was hurt by comments that he was not a good dad to his two youngsters.

The 33-year-old is managing to find form again with US franchise LA Galaxy after a tricky few years on the pitch at West Ham and Sevilla.

In a recent interview with Mexican outlet ViX, Hernandez described the anguish he was facing in fatherhood in a very candid and honest admission. "I would love for things to be different, they are not being and there is nothing left but to juice it up, to learn,” he said, as transcribed by the Mirror. "It is very hard (to be away from the children).
