Phil Vickery, Fern Britton's ex-husband, has shared a mysterious message about "messing up something good" on his Instagram Story. The 62 year old chef posted the cryptic quote shortly after Fern's recent appearance on Celebrity Big Brother. The post read: "A lot of people mess up something good by looking for something better, to end up with something worse." Phil, who regularly appears on This Morning, was married to former host Fern, 66, for 20 years before they announced their split in 2020.Two years after their separation, rumours circulated that Phil had been spotted kissing Lorraine Stanton, who was known as Fern's "best friend".
It was said that Fern found the situation "awkward," and was "shocked", but she later seemed to dismiss these rumours. Fern has since opened up about her marriage to Phil and told Woman and Home magazine: "We simply needed to follow our own paths.
Over time we realised we weren't necessarily having the kind of life we once did. It seemed right to say 'thank you' and move on." She also mentioned that she maintains a "good friendship" with her ex-husband Phil, as reported by the Mirror.
Last year, she also told Good Housekeeping about her life after divorce: "My children are grown-up and I'm no longer married, and it's as if this whole other world has opened up.
