Ex-Aberdeen player Adam Rooney pays tribute to former teammate stabbed to death
dailyrecord.co.ukFormer Aberdeen player Adam Rooney has paid tribute to Cody Fisher, his old teammate, who died on Boxing Day after being stabbed to death.Cody, 23, was said to be attacked around 11.45pm on the dancefloor of The Crane Nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, while he was on a night out with friends.
Sadly, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene half an hour later. Two people have now been arrested by West Midlands Police on suspicion of murder, Aberdeen Live reports.
The force said: "We’ve arrested two men on suspicion of the murder of footballer Cody Fisher, who was stabbed to death at a nightclub in Birmingham on Boxing Day. "A 22-year-old was held at an address in Birmingham city centre just after midnight, while a second man aged 21 was arrested in London."They will be questioned on suspicion of the murder of Cody, who was stabbed on the dance floor of the Crane nightclub on Adderley Street just before midnight on Boxing Day.
He died at the scene."Cody worked as a sports coach in schools in and around the Birmingham area and was a non-league footballer.
