Evil sister killer who left body decomposing in house of horrors cleared of child sex abuse charges

A convicted killer serving a life sentence behind bars for murdering her sister has been cleared of historic child sex abuse claims.

Lynette Greenop, 44, was acquitted at Ayr Sheriff Court last week of sexual assault allegations towards two complainers, who were at the time aged between 13 and 15-years-old.

The charges, which dated back to 2009, claimed Greenop repeatedly touched one girl’s breasts, buttocks and private parts, both over and under their clothing.

She faced a second charge of sexually assaulting - or alternatively engaging in sexual activities with - the girl between December 2010 and November 2012.It was alleged she sexually assaulted a second girl, then aged between 13 and 15, by repeatedly touching her breasts, buttocks and private parts, both over and under their clothing on various occasions between April 2012 and April 2015.This charge also alleged Greenop told the girl to strip naked.Two other allegations of Greenop committing a sex act in front of one of the complainers and of sexual assault were dropped by the Crown ahead of the trial.The trial, heard under Sheriff Shirley Foran, began at Ayr Sheriff Court last Monday with the jury returning a verdict on Wednesday afternoon, with the first charge found not proven by majority.Jurors returned a not guilty by majority to the second charge and not guilty by unanimous verdict to the third.
