Events return to support Renfrewshire families during Baby Loss Awareness Week

Renfrewshire landmarks will be illuminated next month for Baby loss Awareness Week as families come together for a service of remembrance.Johnstone Bandstand, Renfrew Town Hall and the Bascule Bridge will be lit blue and pink on Saturday, October 15 as families across the area remember children who were so briefly known.The landmarks will be lit up for a third year following a campaign by Linwood woman Kirsty Cuthbert who has been encouraging people to speak more openly about baby loss after her daughter Isla Jamie Easton Cuthbert was stillborn in 2019.Kirsty will also join families at Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital on October 2 at a special remembrance service which aims to bring comfort to women and their families who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.The 'So Briefly Known' service has been held on the first Sunday of October for a number of years but it had to be postponed because of the Covid pandemic.Kirsty said she is pleased to see it return.Renfrewshire Live, the new free app dedicated to bringing you around the clock breaking news, is now available to download.Powered by the Paisley Daily Express, Renfrewshire Live is your go-to source for news, features and sport with live coverage provided direct to the app, seven days a week.The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with the Buddies.Available on both Android and Apple.
