The teen has been missing since the storm caused chaos in the village, but his loved ones only just started to realise at the end of Thursdays episode after being distracted by Sam's horrifying accident and Liv dying.
Belle noticed Samson hadn't been in his room overnight and then Lydia found out that he had never made it to his friends house as planned.
The family then set out to try and find him, scouring the village and fields. Lydia, Belle and Nate then headed to the woods where Samson's smashed phoned was eventually found as Lydia tried to ring it.
The mobile was found near the edge of a sheer drop, and Lydia anxiously looked over the edge to see if she could spot Samson below.
