A brave East Kilbride dad has joined the police full-time in his role as a Special Constable to support the national response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Following a nationwide appeal for volunteers to increase their commitment, 50-year-old Michael Lydon pledged his support to the cause by taking paid leave from his job managing a tool and plant hire company in order to perform his duty through the crisis.Special Constables are warranted officers with all the powers of regular police officers who volunteer their services.
