East Kilbride coach Allan Steel says he will accept Scottish Rugby’s decision to scrap the league season – but wants a crack at Hawick Harlequins in the National Shield.The Torrance House club were in a decent position to have a realistic chance of the West League One title.But Steel knows other clubs were in a similar situation and they will just accept the SRU decision and move on.However, the EK gaffer says his players were buzzing for the chance to achieve a national shield final place, and hopes something can be done to make that happen.Steel said: “At the end of the day it’s an unusual worldwide situation so there’s not really anything we can do about it – world health has to come first.“We’re disappointed that we don’t get to play
