Dumfries and Galloway Council’s headquarters will proudly light up in pink, purple, and teal next weekend. It will join more than 70 landmarks across the UK in the Make 2nds Count’s Shine a Light initiative.
The patient and family-focused charity – dedicated to giving hope through clinical trial education, knowledge sharing, support and funding research into secondary (metastatic) breast cancer – aims to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The council buildings in English Street will be lit up on Sunday, October 13, which is the only day of the year dedicated to raising awareness on secondary breast cancer.
Make 2nds Count is seeking to raise awareness of the reality of incurable secondary breast cancer – also known as also known as stage four or advanced – highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness, support and funding for research.
