Driver arrested in Salford for multiple offences

Greater Manchester Police Transport Unit officers in Salford arrested a 30-year-old man on Tuesday (October 26) for multiple driving offences as part of the force's OperationAVRO campaign.

The male was found to be on the road despite being disqualified and uninsured. He was later remanded in custody overnight and faces court on Wednesday morning.

His vehicle, meanwhile, was subsequently seized, police said. AVRO is a force-wide initiative that delivers a surge of extra resources and specialist officers to a different district within Greater Manchester each month, according to the force's web site.
