Dog tied up and abandoned by cruel owner in freezing temperatures at Scots park

Animal protection officers are investigating after a helpless dog was tied up outside a park in near-freezing temperatures and left by its cruel owner.

A member of the public spotted the female pocket bully tied up outside Balloch Park in Dumbarton as they were on their way to work on Thursday December 8, reports Glasgow Live.

The dog was still there when she was on her way home - prompting her to call the Scottish SPCA.Officers from the animal welfare charity retrieved the pooch and have taken it into their care at their Dunbartonshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The situation has been complicated by the fact the animal was not microchipped.Images of the poor pup have been released in a bid to identify the dog – and its unfeeling owner.Ally Bibby, manager of the centre, said: "The dog is a female pocket bully type dog and is white with tan patches.
