Veteran broadcaster Des Cahill has opened up about how he has learned to appreciate motherhood better now that he has become a grandfather.

The sports commentator confessed that he has a far better understanding of what women go through now than when he first became a father himself and finds it ‘shocking’ that men are still so unaware about the birth.

His realisation comes as his daughter Amy welcomed a baby boy named Bobby Patrick a couple of weeks back who he is completely smitten with. ‘I’m head over heels about him.
